Growing up in families where there were addictions, mental illness, an absent parent and other stressful situations can cause us difficulties today. We learn "survival skills" which we thought were the norm. These survival skills can negatively affect our current lives. Adult Children of the Almighty is a 6-week class/sharing group; a safe setting in which to finally look at the truth of what was going on in our families of origin. One can see some of the roles we played and coping skills we developed. We look at families as systems and see how we affect one another.
